Like her choreography, Judy Pozsgay Rimple is sexy, assertive, energetic and engaging - and the driving force behind the visual personality of this 3 time International Medalist chorus. The Olympic-themed finals package in Nashville in 2009 won the Audience Choice Award for Most Entertaining Chorus, due in no small part to Judy’s creative genius!
As Choreographer, Assistant Director (DCP Certified), competition Artistic Director, talented script writer and bass section coach, Judy’s leadership has been invaluable to Lions Gate’s progress. Judy is also a high level singer and performer herself, joining in 1994 as a lead, but switching to bass just months before placing 12th with Go-Go! in her first International quartet contest. Judy has since been an International quartet finalist nine times – four with Unplugged, four with Mojo and in 2012, received a fourth place medal with her current quartet, Frenzy.
Regionally, Judy was Education Coordinator (2004-2006), implementing expanded educational opportunities across the Region. She serves as Regional Education Faculty, volunteering her time to teach the vocal and visual elements of our craft throughout Region 26. Internationally, Judy is an Approved Judge (Showmanship), serves on the International Faculty (including five years as IES Faculty) and serves on Region 13’s Faculty. She is a member of the Education Direction Committee, on the Editorial Review Board, and is co-chair of the 2014 Acapella Harmony Academy. She travels the world teaching both Sweet Adelines and Barbershop Harmony Society singers.
Judy’s mission is “to share my passion and energy for this art form, and hopefully inspire in others the confidence and enthusiasm to risk and share their gifts.” She is succeeding!
