Alberta Northern Lights Chorus
What an amazing quarter it has been for Alberta Northern Lights Chorus and it's members. At the Region 26 competition in our home town of Edmonton.AB, we came in 2nd place with a score of 613 points and also came in 2nd overall. We have been invited to compete at International Competition in Columbus, Ohio in 2025 as Wildcard #5 and are thrilled to represent Region 26 under the direction of Master Director, Lisa Hunszinger!
Lisa Hunszinger, also competed at Region 26 with her quartet, Glisten and earned first place in the quartet competition. Glisten will be representing Region 26 at International Competition in Kansas City, Missouri this fall and we couldn't be prouder. Way to go Glisten!
Alberta Northern Lights Chorus would like to congratulate our very own Joy McGregor who won the Region 26 Arrangers Contest with her tag “Friends We’ve Never Met”. The award was presented to Joy during the first night festivities at Region 26 Competition and was performed by Martini! Another one of our chorus members, Jen Laux won Honourable Mention in this same contest for her tag “Your Best Self”. We are so proud of both Joy and Jen!
Carolyne Oehlerking is a singer in our Tenor Section as well as the Director of Grove City Men's Chorus. She proudly directed the Together In Song chorus (previously known as the family chorus) at Contest this year. "Together in Harmony" Chorus performed for us with approximately 70 members on stage (including one live pigeon). Congratulations to all for an excellent performance.
But the excitement doesn’t stop there … we are currently gearing up for our annual Summer Singing Social on June 25th. We are looking forward to sharing our love of singing with a whole new group of potential members!
