Peace Arch Gratitude

Peace Arch sings The Parting Glass at the close of their Gratitude Concert

We are grateful for sing outs at the Heritage Railway Station in Cloverdale; Langley Sounds of Summer at Douglas Park; 104 year birthday celebration for Mom of a PAC member at Elim Residence in Surrey.

PAC’s summer culminated in a Gratitude concert for our rehearsal venue, Langley Presbyterian Church family & friends, the weekend before Thanksgiving.

“Gratitude is a powerful emotion that encourages us to pause and truly appreciate the beauty and blessings around us. Whether it’s the warmth of friendship, the sound of a familiar song, or the joy of coming together in harmony, gratitude can transform even the smallest moments into something magical.”    Quote from the Gratitude Concert…

Peace Arch Chorus members contributed their expressions of gratitude for the script.

“Each of us joined Peace Arch for the love of harmony and the desire to share our music with all of you. In addition to the joy of performing, we are creating lasting friendships with our fellow riser mates and members from other Sweet Adeline choruses.”  Quote from the Gratitude Concert…

The opening song was O Siem, made popular by Canadian singer Susan Aglukark, who gave us permission to arrange in 4 part harmony, by Sam Dubrusin.  A PAC member’s First Nation daughter joined as the drummer.

PAC member Margaret donated 2 of her handcrafted quilts in gratitude to the Langley Church, which is gifting to 2 church member shut-ins.

11 PAC members attended Harmony College North West in Tacoma WA; others to Harmony Hollow in Birch Bay.  Director Elvera attended the Director Education Session in Tulsa….grateful for these educational opportunities.

So grateful for the expertise of Sandy Marron, who conducted PVI’s for each member & riser placement for the PAC.

PAC’ers attended West Coast Harmony Sneak Peek & have planned a SAI Watch party attired in black with chunky silver jewellery to cheer on West Coast virtually…..grateful to celebrate our neighbour Chorus.

Most recently, Peace Arch hosted Langley’s World Singing Day event during the Atmospheric River incident in the Lower Mainland…..grateful that there were no critical incidents within our families .

Peace Arch will perform a Home for the Holidays Christmas show at their rehearsal site December 07. The Christmas sing outs are mounting in Care Centres, for Christmas tree lightings & a church concert .. grateful to share the joy of Christmas.

We recognize, and acknowledge, with thanks, that we are gathered on the traditional and unceded traditional territories of the Katzie, Kwantlen, Semiahmoo & Matsqui First Nations. We honour their centuries of knowledge and stewardship of this beautiful land, that we are now privileged to share.

Hay-ce-p qa Thank you.
