Corinna discovered Sweet Adelines in 1988 when a friend took her to a Lions Gate Chorus rehearsal. She was placed in the front row as a baritone, standing next to a very welcoming Elaine Matheson (Cotton). It wasn’t long before Corinna began putting her impressive musical and administrative skills to work in leadership roles within the chorus. In her two choruses, Corinna has been section leader, music team coordinator, chapter vice president, assistant director, associate director and in 1999 became the front line director of Westcoast Harmony Chorus, earning her Master Director designation in 2002.
Corinna joined her first quartet in 1989, singing tenor with The Leading Edge. Since then she has continued to quartet with Avanti, Five Foot Four, Brava!, Omni, Transit, Mojo and currently is the temporary tenor of Martini on their journey to Houston. Her quartet accomplishments include five international top ten placements.
Beyond singing, Corinna has proved to be a clever and creative arranger in the barbershop style. Some of her popular arrangements include Honey I’m Home, Short People, This Is It (The Bugs Bunny Theme), Namedroppings, Canadian Man and Walkin’ on Sunshine to name only a few.
Regionally, Corinna served as DMA / Education Coordinator for three years. She has been a member of the REF for over 15 years. Her passion for sharing knowledge and her down-to-earth, approachable style make her a favourite coach among Region 26 choruses and quartets. She hates to miss conventions, and has attended every Regional and nearly every International Convention since she joined the organization.
Internationally, Corinna is a Certified Music Judge and serves on the Sales and Marketability Committee, a group that reviews new music for publication.
