Bewitched Quartet
Since Sweet Adelines International in Phoenix, Bewitched has been busy learning two new songs for our upcoming Back FOR The Future Regional in Saskatoon. A special shout out to our friend Joy Bruce for her help with our sheet music and the Finale program. One of the songs is a brand-new arrangement by the fabulous Joey Minshall and Emily Moriarty that we can’t wait to debut for you!
Things have been a little complicated in our world the past few months since Allison’s family situation moved her back across the border into Washington state where she needs to stay for six months while reestablishing her residency in the US. This has meant we’ve had to be creative in finding times and places to meet and rehearse. Having good friends in Melissa & Heather Bomben who live just across the border has been a huge help, and we also found a great space at the Blaine Public Library where we can sing and they don’t even tell us to be quiet!
During our first rehearsal at the library, one of the staff members came into the room to tell us how much hearing our singing meant to him. He said it brought back wonderful memories of hearing his father and grandfather singing in a quartet at church as a child. At the end of our rehearsal, we invited him in and did a mini-performance for him. It was a really special experience for everyone involved.
We enjoyed a coaching session with Don & Amy Rose at their home in Bellingham and we’ve been getting in as much coaching time with the fabulous Sandy Marron as her schedule allows. Sandy has been working her magic on us as singers and on our new music.
We are super excited to see you all, sing for you, and sing with you at the Afterglow in Saskatoon. If you see us hanging around and want to step into your voice part and sing a song or tag with us, please come on over and ask!
In the meantime, you can keep up with our activities on our Bewitched Facebook page.
