Lions Gate Chorus
Lions Gate Chorus has experienced an extraordinary year filled with pride and joy. We are elated to have achieved a significant milestone, securing the title of International Champions in Louisville, KY, and for being the first chorus in Sweet Adelines history to receive a perfect score in any category from the panel of judges! We are also honored to have been named the audience’s choice for "Most Entertaining Chorus" at the competition. These recognitions hold a special place in our hearts, reflecting our dedication to connecting with audiences through the transformative power of music. Celebrating our 70th anniversary this year adds an extra layer of happiness to our journey.
Since returning from the International Convention in the fall, our focus has shifted to spreading holiday cheer in our community through festive performances. We are also preparing for our 70th-anniversary festivities, Regional Convention in Edmonton in May, and returning to International in Kansas City in the fall as the 2024 International Champions.
We are filled with anticipation as we prepare to reunite with everyone at the “Mission Possible” Region 26 Convention in May. We are excited about the opportunity to perform for the Region and to share our knowledge and passion during the Regional Education Class.
Members of Lions Gate Chorus are actively gearing up for various responsibilities in Kansas City, from participating in the Technical Rehearsal Chorus, to leading the Chorus Music Education Class. We are also thrilled to contribute to the cherished doll display tradition at Sweet Adelines International headquarters. Our "Sew Sisters" are diligently working on creating a costume for the display, which features dolls dressed in replicas of the costumes worn by each International Champion Quartet and Chorus.
Our upcoming swan song performance on Thursday at the International Convention, following the chorus semifinals, is a moment we eagerly await, and plans are in the works for an exciting package.
The journey to international gold has been incredible, and we are grateful for the chance to contribute to the shared joy of making music together.
We look forward to seeing everyone in Edmonton for a celebration of music and camaraderie!
