Lions Gate Chorus

Springtime always means one thing to Sweet Adelines - Regional Convention and Competition!  We at Lions Gate were thrilled to see all of our friends from across Western Canada in Edmonton this year.

Appearing as International Champions is a very different vibe from our previous years as competitors and we loved every minute of it. We were all treated like celebrities from the moment we arrived at YEG, when we were greeted by our personal Gateway valets (shout-out to my valet, Vivian Miller!).

The whole weekend was filled with wonderful moments thanks to Gateway Chorus, the Convention Steering Committee, and the entire Region. The audiences at our education class and performances were so kind and so receptive, and we really felt the love all weekend long.

Watching our Region’s choruses and quartets compete was the icing on the cake to such a marvellous weekend. The joy, beauty and talent of each singer shone through and we’re so proud to be a part of this Region. We can only hope to bring such joy with us to Kansas City in October.

As we head towards summer and what is usually a quiet time at Lions Gate, we find ourselves getting ready to perform at International once again.  While we’re not competing, we still want to bring our A game and make our Region proud. We can’t spill the beans about our swan song set in Kansas City, so for now we will just wish you sweet dreams….
