Peace Arch Chorus - More in 24
Peace Arch Chorus PAC started their Christmas sing outs in late November, carrying on through to December 21st, at six sites - 14 sets. In addition, our Christmas show Songs of the Season was performed December 03rd at our rehearsal site with an excellent full audience (see gallery below).
Two of the sing out sites are popular for Hall Mark movie locations. The Fort Langley Community Hall is the yellow building often seen in movies. The other, the Martini Town Village in South Aldergrove is a magical Christmas site where we sang outdoors 3 nights – 3 sets each night. Martini gift their performers with some appreciation vouchers for each evening we sang. We managed to use one set only, since from mid-December; tickets were sold out. Also, we visited 3 care homes & sang on a Christmas Bureau show fundraiser with First Capital Barbershop Chorus.
Donny & Amy Rose visited the PAC in mid November for a fabulous energetic Saturday of coaching. Retreat coaching is fast approaching as we prepare for Edmonton in May with Queen Elaine Cotton; followed by Region 26 Quartet bass winner, Lisa Greenough, and Queen Sandy Marron, SAI Gold Metal Director, as PAC’s Regional coach. Retreat theme is a pyjama party to re-celebrate the webcast party to cheer on Lion’s Gate Chorus. The PAC sent Elvera off to Louisville with some special treats & WOW… did we treat her on the return. We are so proud of the LGC gold medal. Elvera insisted that each PAC member feel her gold medal around each & every PAC neck.
We are excited to report new members have joined the PAC & a couple more are in the wings. And we have also been graced with some former members who have rejoined.
Recently Director Elvera began a Thursday Theory Track. Theory buffs devour this, others may think it is devouring them; but each week, it will become relatable to a song in our repertoire.
Many of the PAC booked airfare to YEG during a November seat sale. Some are reminiscing of their last Edmonton Region 26 contest. Costume committee is exhibiting its’ design wits to showcase the radiance of the PAC!
MORE IN 24 as we embrace and enhance the skills of Barbershop.
