Peace Arch Queens for a night

Peace Arch Queens for a night

Peace Arch Chorus PAC’s weekly zoom rehearsals have alternated EDUCATION – SOCIAL with some pretty spectacular themes; the most recent celebrating Queen Victoria Day.  We displayed crowns, tiaras and distinctive jewelled head gear, and listened to SAI Queen Quartets.

Throughout the pandemic virtual rehearsals, Emma Honrud PAC Director, prepared a myriad of education topics using power point & videos.  In addition, she invited very special facilitator guests.

  • Karri Quan was our 1st in the new rehearsal format. She touched on music theory & song analysis.

  • Donya Metzger visited us twice. Use it, Don’t Lose It – spurs one during these unusual times to carry on singing. Her topic of Emotive Singing brought attention to words one could have dismissed. She champions authenticity. We appreciate Donya’s learning tracks.

  • Beatle a Day. Mo Field & Amelia spent an evening with the PAC. They provided Beatle songs for us to sing along. It was fascinating to learn how Mo studied the Beatles’ arrangements to prepare for their daily face book ‘Beatle a Day’ performances.

  • Donny Rose, whom we know as rhythm & tag master had us m o v i n g & g r o o v I n g in the beat!!!

  • Sofia de Rama touched on her study of Bel Canto, overtones and the harmonics of the human voice.

Peace Arch appreciated the very impressive Region 26 workshop in October 2020 & none of us wanted to miss a minute of the UnContest. KUDOS to the organizers of both events.

For us, Zoom has added another dimension to rehearsals, particularly in education (didactic) and analysis.  Emma has presented many relevant topics at a micro level virtually.

We look forward to rehearsals in person albeit with masks, BUT alas, shall miss Emma greatly at the helm.
