Elvera Collier

Elvera has been a Sweet Adeline since 1986 and has a vast experience in both quartet & chorus. Originally a member of White Spruce City Chorus, she is currently the director of Peace Arch Chorus and an Assistant Director and the Baritone Section Leader of Lions Gate Chorus. She has one quartet championship under her belt with a 12th place finish at International, multiple International experiences with Westcoast Harmony Chorus and 7 Top 5 International placements with Lions Gate Chorus. She is a certified director and is excited to be a new member of Region 26 Education Faculty.

Elvera has a strong background in Piano and Music Theory, and combined with many years of Sweet Adeline’s education, she has a great understanding of the barbershop style. Tuning, balance, resonance, unit sound, vocal production, and emotional performance are all strong tools in her toolbox! Her passion is to tell the story from beginning to end and take each audience member on a journey. She also believes that sight-reading is the greatest sport around!

In her “other” life (is there another life?), she is semi-retired, working as a senior administrative assistant for a small boutique engineering firm. She is an avid quilter and has won many awards for her hand-quilted treasures, she loves all things needle arts-related, loves cooking and gardening, but mostly loves to spend time with friends & family.
