This year’s Region 26 Competition in Saskatoon was a weekend full of music, friendship, and fun. Our first in-person competition since 2019 was the perfect opportunity to rekindle old friendships and to form new ones, making it an unforgettable experience.

Lions Gate Chorus members who attended could not stop talking about what a great time they had. The full chorus was not able to be there in person, but we are proud to have participated in the event virtually through our swan song video that was shown at the afterglow.

Congratulations to all of the quartets and choruses that crossed the stage, including our new Regional quartet champions Thumbs Up!, Novice Quartet Award winners WHOA, Westcoast Harmony Chorus (1st Place Overall, Div AA, and Marcia Pinvidic Expression Award), and Alberta Northern Lights Chorus (1st Place Div A).

Of course, we are particularly proud of our Lions Gate Chorus members who represented us with talent and grace, including mic testers BRAVATINI!, quartets Bewitched (3rd place), Copper Moon (5th place), and Wallace Sound, and Novice Director Award winner Elvera Collier directing Peace Arch Chorus (3rd place Div A).

We're also grateful to our Lions Gate Quartet Competition Emcees Elaine Cotton, Shannon Harris, and Sandy Marron, to Webcast Hosts Elaine Cotton, Corinna Garriock, and Cammi MacKinlay, for helping to bring the excitement and energy of the live event into the homes of those who were unable to attend in person, and to competition Page Stacey Rose.

The TCU venue in Saskatoon was a beautiful and welcoming space, and the SHINDIG banquet and afterglow hosted by Lisa Greenough and Evani Goll was one of the highlights of the weekend. It was wonderful to see young a cappella groups like Saskatoon’s youth barbershop chorus Acoustic Theory bringing new energy to the event and being involved in the festivities.

Overall, the Competition in Saskatoon was a resounding success. We are proud to have been a part of it and look forward to seeing everyone in person at future events. Congratulations again to all of the performers and organizers, and here's to being Back for the Future!
