Celebrating a Spectacular Regional Contest in Edmonton: A Heartfelt Thank You!
The Convention Steering Committee (CSC) is incredibly honored to have hosted Region 26 in our beloved hometown of Edmonton for this year's contest. The excitement was palpable, and the weekend was made even more memorable with the presence of the 2024 International Champion Chorus, Lions Gate. Their participation was a tremendous bonus, adding to the overall thrill of the event.
Our deepest gratitude goes to the Region 26 Regional Management Team for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout the planning and execution of the contest. The success of the event is also owed to the incredible efforts of the choruses: Gateway, Alberta Northern Lights, and Lions Gate. Your assistance in preparing for and hosting the weekend was invaluable. A special thank you to Lions Gate for their extraordinary willingness to support the two competing host choruses. Your generosity and camaraderie were gifts we truly treasured and we want to thank all the lionesses.
We are also appreciative of those who took the time to share their thoughts on the event through the post-event evaluation form. Your feedback, both positive and negative, is crucial for us. Rest assured, we have heard your voices and will consider your observations carefully as we begin planning for the next Regional Competition and Convention in Surrey, BC.
While we actively seek the thoughts and observations of all attendees at Regional events, we take this moment to remind everyone that constructive, solution-focused feedback is always the most effective. Unkind and hurtful comments serve very little purpose other than to negatively impact the volunteers' desire to continue in their roles. No one volunteers to fail or disappoint, and your encouragement is vital in sustaining a vibrant and motivated volunteer community.
Looking ahead, we invite you to stay connected through Region 26's social media and email correspondence from both the RMT and direct messages from the CSC. We are eager to have as many people involved in the next Convention's team as possible. Remember, many hands make light work, and your participation is greatly welcomed.
Thank you once again for making the Edmonton contest a memorable and successful event. We look forward to seeing you in Surrey, BC!
Warm regards,
The Convention Steering Committee
