The Sing Canada Harmony Coffee Challenge
Hi ladies of Region 26! It’s Fran Thorson here, and I'd like to introduce myself as the Region 26 representative for Sing Canada Harmony!
I bet you are all thinking, but isn't she our Events Coordinator?? and you'd be right about that too.
I'm coming to you today to tell you about an opportunity for the Region to become bigger backers of this wonderful society, one that somewhat silently supports many choruses and most recently, many individuals, in our Region and across Canada!
We provide scholarship money to groups and individuals throughout Canada, for Canadian singers and educators, that wouldn't normally be available. The catch however, is that for us to keep providing support, we really need to grow our donor base. I'd like to acknowledge the ladies and choruses who are currently donating, and try to encourage some others to join them!
What I'm looking for is one person per chorus to act as a liaison between their chorus and our board, so we can have better lines of communication open and spread the word!! I've got a $5 coffee card for the first lady from each chorus in Region 26 who contacts me and agrees to help us out!
Okay, now the fun part!
The Sing Canada Harmony Coffee Challenge is on from now until December 31st!! Most of us ladies enjoy the occasional coffee with our friends from time to time, right?
Well... I'd like to challenge you to give up 2 coffees per month, about $10.00, and consider donating it to Sing Canada!! This donation over the year would make you an Ambassador of Song, which is a mighty designation, and comes with a pretty red ribbon and a tax receipt! We challenge you to gather your girlfriends from yoga class, bookclub, and especially chorus, and join in the fun!
To make it even more exciting, Region 26 and Region 16 have challenged each other to see who can raise the most money before the turn of the next decade! So please consider donating, and help us to Keep a Melody Ringing!
