A Blends Christmas

Battlefords Blend Harmony Chorus are busy during the Christmas season, as are many musical groups. One thing they particularly enjoy is being able to go out and entertain at seniors’ residences in the Battlefords area.

On December 6 they visited Caleb Village for an afternoon of selling baked goodies and raffle tickets. After being fed a delicious dinner, the Blends entertained the residents and their guests with some seasonal music that appeared to be enjoyed by all.

The Blends also entertained at the Carol Festival in North Battleford and other seniors residences before Christmas. They already have plans for some special Valentines programs in the coming year as well.

The Blends are fortunate that many of those who invite them to perform over the Christmas Season allow them to find ways to earn money through raffles, 50/50 draws, silent auctions or other means. This helps them earn money so they can afford to buy music, pay for costumes and cover other expenses incurred in preparation for their required presence at competitions.

These recent events are in preparation for their competition in Sweet Adelines International Region 26 competition that will be held in Calgary in the spring.
