Lions Gate Chorus Spreads Holiday Cheer with a Spectacular Season of Performances

The 2024 holiday season was nothing short of magical for Lions Gate Chorus! Fresh off our exhilarating International Swan Set performance in Kansas City, a dedicated ensemble of 40 members dove straight into preparing a festive repertoire to bring harmony and joy to our community. With just a few weeks to rehearse, we crafted a 14-song holiday-themed set, blending timeless classics with lively, spirited arrangements to capture the essence of the season.

Our commitment and enthusiasm paid off as we took to the stage (or the sidewalk!) for ten incredible performances throughout Greater Vancouver. It was an honor to be invited back by event organizers and community festival hosts who recognize the unique energy and artistry that Lions Gate brings to the holiday season. From twinkling outdoor community festivals to elegant private events, each performance was an opportunity to spread warmth, joy, and the magic of a cappella harmony.

Not only did this season bring musical fulfillment, but it was also a significant success for the chorus, generating over $10,000 in revenue to support our ongoing artistic and competitive endeavours. However, beyond the financial impact, the most rewarding aspect was seeing the joy on our audiences’ faces and welcoming some of our newest members into their first-ever performances. There’s nothing quite like the thrill of performing, blending voices in harmony, and feeling the connection between singers and audience.

As we close the book on a fantastic holiday season, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our supporters, event hosts, musical leaders, and, of course, our incredible members who put in the time and passion to make it all happen. We can’t wait to see what 2025 brings and look forward to sharing more music with our wonderful community!
