Southern Accord

Southern Accord News: We are pleased to introduce our new Assistant Director Wanda Dubois. Wanda brings a strong musical background and enthusiasm to her role – and we hope occasional bottles of wine from her daughter’s French vineyard. This year is the 25th Anniversary of our Charter and we have several performances coming up including a big show in October. Details TBA.

Notariety: Elaine Liebelt, Associate Director and Jill McLeod Director are being interviewed by the Lethbridge  Galt Museum and Archives about the donation of bedazzled face shields that our directing team wore during Covid. Here’s hoping the shields are truly in the past, never to reappear again.

Our Chorus is featured in a Telus Storyhive documentary airing now. The Telus program supports emerging filmmakers in BC and Alberta telling stories that capture local communities. Producer Ollie Okeowo was looking for a diverse representation of musical artists in Lethbridge and approached us. Always happy to talk about our craft and organization, we were interviewed, filmed and performed at a public showcase with the other participants. It was an honour to share the stage with such talented acts.  If you are interested in watching the program, look for Windy City Highlights on the Telus community channel or google: YouTube Telus Storyhive Windy City Highlights S1 Episode 5 Southern Accords. Episode 6 highlights the final concert with singing, dancing and drumming. Great fun!
