What now? I’ve worked so hard for this

As this new (albeit temporary) reality finally begins to settle in, so does sorrow about what should have been. Today we shine light on one of our bright lights - Lisa Hunszinger who was scheduled to judge Region 21 this weekend. We also celebrate the creativity of members world-round! Here are Lisa’s words.

Today would have marked my first time sitting as the expression judge with the official judging panel in Region 21. But circumstances changed and, like many others, I am left feeling, “What now? I’ve worked so hard for this.” I have been continually impressed by the innovative and creative ways that our members have shown as they keep moving forward.

Region 21 decided to host a Zoom meeting to celebrate and connect with their quartets on contest day (choruses will meet tomorrow)  The official judging panel was invited to attend. It was heart-warming to hear them applaud for each other and share what they were doing to stay connected and moving forward.

Tomorrow is another day and we will eventually get through all of the turmoil. Inspired by others, I will continue to practice and hone my skills and see you all at a later date when we can celebrate together again.

As a Region we celebrate your accomplishments along the road to “judgedom” (yes, I made that word up). We also look forward to celebrating your real, live debut on the official judging panel in the future. Shine on bright star!
