Remembering Yvette Jaspar
Yvette was a genuinely caring and compassionate person who loved and gave so much to her family, her chorus, her friends, and all of God’s creatures. We’re glad we laughed, and loved, and sang (oh how we sang) together.
Joey Minshall - Master Music Arranger
The RMT and Region 26 are thrilled to congratulate our very own Joey Minshall on being advanced to Master Music Arranger, the highest designation possible in the Arranger Certification Program of Sweet Adelines International.

The Region 26 Virtual RES was held October 2 - 4. It was an awesome event - well planned and well organized. We were able to learn from some of the top coaches and experts in our Sweet Adelines organization.

Iris (Inward) Porter was born in Richmond, England on September 19, 1920. By the time the women of Chinook Winds Show Chorus welcomed her in 1971, she had already lived a full life.

Un-contest - The Captivating Holly Saulou
Today we spotlight someone who changed the game for me personally - Holly Saulou. I am terrible at remembering timelines, so honestly, I can’t tell you the year, but it was my first regional contest… I can’t remember if it was the year that Peace Arch (my chorus of origin) sat out, or if it was the year after… but really none of that matters. What matters is that Gateway Chorus was on stage under the direction of Marlene Greenough and I could NOT TAKE MY EYES OFF one front row dancer. The level of performance of this blond sensation was simply captivating, entrancing, and inspirational. I became a silent fangirl of that dancer who I found out to be Holly.
Sheryl Brook - thoughts on Harmony 500 Directorship
Sometimes, in this world, it just helps to be clueless. Truly it does. Ignorance can be bliss, as it was in my case. I had completely forgotten that there was such a category as a “Harmony 500 Director”,

Un-contest - The Incomparable Cammi MacKinlay
Today we spotlight another Inspirational Leader within Region 26 - Cammi MacKinlay. Standing next to Cammi on the risers has been one of the highlights of my Lions Gate career. She is a true ambassador for the organization and for leadership growth opportunities, and I might add, a mighty fine bass!
Un-Contest - The Incredible Joey Minshall
Today we spotlight a true influencer within Region 26 - Joey Minshall. Even if you have not met Joey, you may recognize her name and that is undoubtedly because you are singing at least one of her arrangements in your chorus or quartet. She is humble and might guffaw at this statement, but she is kind of a big deal - a trailblazer and a treasure in Region 26.
Un-contest - The Inspirational Marcia Pinvidic
Today we spotlight an Inspirational Leader within Region 26 - Marcia Pinvidic. If you haven’t yet spent time in Marcia’s presence, well you’ve missed out on something rather special.
What now? I’ve worked so hard for this
Today would have marked my first time sitting as the expression judge with the official judging panel in Region 21. But circumstances changed and, like many others, I am left feeling, “What now? I’ve worked so hard for this.”
Shift don't shrink
These are unprecedented and unpredictable times for all of us. As a generally anxiety-free individual, I started feeling my stress levels rise at the loss of control I suddenly had over my life. As I tried to make sense of it all I found myself drawing inward, and as I did that, I felt an even greater sense of alone-ness.
See you in Calgary!
2020, who can believe the turn of the Millennium 20 years of age? Who can believe Region 26 was formed 38 years ago?
Dual Membership? Your questions answered
Dual Membership provides everyone with the opportunity to experience different chorus cultures and different musical experiences. Region 26 and Sweet Adelines International heartily endorse the program.
The FULL #GatewayGirl Experience
At Gateway Chorus, we love singing, traveling, experiencing barbershop together, and also wearing really beautiful costumes when we perform! That’s why we created the Gateway Girl Experience for those who might not be ready to join or who just want a great way to meet new friends.

You’ll notice many changes – the Region has decided to embrace some new technology and is providing our newsletter in an electronic format. Links will take you to the regional website where you can view the full article, as well as pictures and hopefully in the future, video! This is very different, and is a work in progress – you will continue to see the evolution of this information over the next year.
