We have quartet news!! Introducing Copper Moon Quartet: Donna St. Germain (Tenor), Pat Fry (Lead), Elvera Collier (Bari) and Janine Roberts (Bass).

As many chorus’ out there, the thought of recruitment may seem daunting coming out of this pandemic. Anxiety and fears surrounding COVID 19 are still at large as we learn what coming out of our homes or zooms and back to chorus night look likes for each of us.

Battlefords Blend has not been actively seeking new members for the last two years. This year we changed that!

Finally! After two years of Zoom rehearsals, followed by outdoor rehearsals in hula hoops, then indoor rehearsals in masks and more hula hoops, Westcoast is now on the risers, with energy and enthusiasm like never before as we prepare in earnest for International in Phoenix.

The PAC is thrilled, overjoyed, delighted to celebrate our new Director Elvera Collier.

Alberta Heartland Chorus is having quite an exciting year. Like the rest of region 26, we spent over two years ‘zooming.’ Thanks to our talented director and her team we remained strong, but it just wasn’t the same. So when covid restrictions lifted, we couldn’t wait to start ringing some chords.

Peace Arch Chorus lost a much beloved long-term member after a brief struggle with cancer.

Resilience. Perseverance. Leadership. Singularly and collectively, we continue to exercise these traits to keep our members healthy, our choruses together and our organization strong.

It was a joyous distanced reunion January 26 for our first in person rehearsal in 2022. Some were hesitant, but reassured after observing that protocols were being diligently adhered to by all.

Now, as we begin to look at our Sweet Adeline world in a different light, we prepare for 2022 Competition and Virtual Convention, we pause to wonder what did we do during this time?

Knock us down and we'll just get up. Lock us in and we'll find a key. Hinder our plans we'll find a way, To keep our future full of harmony

Last year, in 2021, Westcoast rang in the New Year with a virtual performance of “Go the Distance,” a gorgeous song with the simple message that there is a hero in every one of us and we will, together and individually, get through these difficult times.

Lions Gate Chorus is fortunate to have strong leadership that has kept us moving forward throughout these long months of the pandemic. Our motto has been WEST, We’ll Emerge Stronger Together, and we have!

Adelines love to sing. That is a forgone conclusion. They love to sing in the barber shop style. Another forgone conclusion. COVID has put a great dint in both of those conclusions.

'DON’T STOP thinking about tomorrow' – this bit comes in size 'song', and it fits us perfectly. A 'never give up' attitude sparked curiosity from our public. As a result another prospective member stepped forward and passed her audition last rehearsal. Since our last update we took in two new members, and we have six prospective members in the wings – this is just a feeling, but I think we have something here.

For now, we are continuing rehearsing via Zoom. We are learning new songs, and as we get closer to the holidays, we will pick up our holiday songs in the hopes we can do some caroling around the area.

Good Vibes quartet was excited to sing at Kaleido Festival 2021 (Sept 11). We roved throughout two parks, and there were so many precious, intimate moments.

Like everyone else in barbershop, Rhythm of the Rockies found themselves, instead of scrambling happily towards their regional competition, scrambling to figure out how to keep a lifestyle of close-harmony singing together when nobody could get together to sing.
