This year is the 25th Anniversary of our Charter and we have several performances coming up including a big show in October.

The White Spruce City Chorus had an Acapella Bootcamp in October 2022 in which 12 new members joined us for the Christmas season!

Looking back over the past few months – it’s been busy and satisfying.

Alberta Gold took a few weeks off during the summer, then we spent the Labour Day Monday at a Community Market/Food Trucks event to promote our chorus. We sang every hour and had so much fun.

It’s been a busy Summer and Fall for the Membership team at Lions Gate Chorus.

Thanksgiving 2022 was such a good time for the PAC. When Rich Tones won the SAI chorus gold, Dale Syverson spoke of how thankful she was that they survived, following the stages of the pandemic.

So glad we have Covid in the rear view mirror, but looking back, it is remarkable what we learned during that time. Virtual song production, Zoom, Jamulus, applying for grants, FM channel singing – we feel like we had success with a lot of new things.

Our chorus has finally been meeting in person for the past few months. It is so good to be back together. We do still distance and wear masks during rehearsals and stick to a very tight schedule as we are limited in our facility to sing for 50 minutes only re air circulation restrictions!

Congratulations to our Directors, leaders, Arrangers, Fundraisers, Board of Governors, choreographers, and to many Committees - to the resilient members of our Pacific Edge Chorus for staying the course.

The PAC is thrilled, overjoyed, delighted to celebrate our new Director Elvera Collier.

It was a joyous distanced reunion January 26 for our first in person rehearsal in 2022. Some were hesitant, but reassured after observing that protocols were being diligently adhered to by all.

Now, as we begin to look at our Sweet Adeline world in a different light, we prepare for 2022 Competition and Virtual Convention, we pause to wonder what did we do during this time?

Knock us down and we'll just get up. Lock us in and we'll find a key. Hinder our plans we'll find a way, To keep our future full of harmony

Last year, in 2021, Westcoast rang in the New Year with a virtual performance of “Go the Distance,” a gorgeous song with the simple message that there is a hero in every one of us and we will, together and individually, get through these difficult times.

Lions Gate Chorus is fortunate to have strong leadership that has kept us moving forward throughout these long months of the pandemic. Our motto has been WEST, We’ll Emerge Stronger Together, and we have!

Adelines love to sing. That is a forgone conclusion. They love to sing in the barber shop style. Another forgone conclusion. COVID has put a great dint in both of those conclusions.

On July 20, 2021, Gateway Chorus held our first hybrid indoor rehearsal back in our home, since the pandemic started.

It's been a hard road of education, over and above what any of us signed up for, but we are enriched because of it. We did it and we sang all along the way – which we believe is our saving grace.

Southern Accord has found a way to do this in real time with something we are calling Car-bershop – a name borrowed from another group. Other choruses are using similar technology but this is our version.
